Can I use headphones with an iPad?
Yes, you can! Almost any type of headphones works with an iPad. You can either wirelessly connect via Bluetooth® or manually plug in a pair, though you might need an adapter. But since you're asking us, I'm guessing you're not looking for a session on the Peloton or a long distance flight; you're probably trying to get some sleep.
The issue though is that using "standard" headphones in bed is usually a nightmare. I've lost count of the number of customers I've spoken with who have tried the "one ear out" method with traditional earbuds. All their stories end the same - waking up at 3am in pain because the earbud became jammed in their ear. Other customers have tried the bulky over-the-ear headphones, which instantly feel like wearing a space helmet as soon as you roll onto your side. Both earbuds and traditional headphones are unfortunately recipes for restless nights.
iPads are great bedside companions, allowing you to listen to podcasts, guided meditations, or white noise, but the type of headphones you use really makes the difference. That's why we intentionally crafted SleepPhones® headphones. With thin, padded speakers inside a soft, comfortable, breathable headband, you can actually drift off instead of fighting your equipment all night. You just connect them to the iPad, slide the headband over your ears, and voilà, that's it. No headphones digging into your skull, no waking up with an earache from earbuds, just blissful, restorative sleep.
