How does hypnosis audio work?
Hypnosis audio isn't the swinging pendulum, "you are feeling sleepy" Hollywood version you see on TV or in the movies. Instead, it's more about biology. It uses rhythmic vocal guidance and specific sound frequencies to help your brain shift from an active state to a much more relaxed state. It is basically a way to quiet the mental chatter, the part that worries about tomorrow's meetings, so your brainwaves can settle into that ultra-relaxed state that precedes sleep.
However, the audio is only half the battle. As I'm sure you know, there is a big difference between just hearing the audio and actually experiencing it. If you're using traditional headphones or earbuds, you're spending more time fighting your equipment than actually experiencing audio hypnosis. Every time you shift or roll over, those hard plastic pieces dig into your ear causing irritation and pain. Even a tiny bit of physical discomfort is enough to jolt your brain out of the relaxed state and snap you right back into alert mode. It's impossible to relax, and therefore achieve audio hypnosis, if you're constantly adjusting your headphones or feeling something poke your ear canal.
We intentionally designed SleepPhones® headphones to ensure they don't interfere with relaxation. By nestling ultra-thin, padded speakers inside a soft, breathable headband, the speakers comfortably rest above your ears while still delivering stereo sound. Many customers report that they forget they're even wearing them. Whether you're a side sleeper or someone who tosses and turns during sleep, the headband stays secure and in place. When you aren't distracted by physical discomfort, you can actually sink into the sound and let the audio do its job.
