Can binaural beats improve memory?
As a customer service representative, I receive this question all the time from folks looking to improve their memory and/or focus. I always tell them it is possible, but it's not guaranteed for everyone. A 2015 review in Frontiers in Psychiatry suggested that listening to binaural beats could potentially help modify brainwaves to assist with things like memory. This stimulation works by inducing specific brainwave patterns. For example, depending on the frequency used, you can shift from an alert beta state into a deep delta sleep state.

We urge you, however, to keep in mind that everyone's brain responds to binaural beats differently. Because results vary, we suggest experimenting with different frequencies and listening for varying amounts of time to find what works best for you. Some customers report that certain sounds help them concentrate during a long study session while others use them to improve their mood or manage stress.
I always tell customers that how you listen is just as important as the audio itself. Clear, steady sound delivered comfortably to each ear is crucial for achieving those precise brainwave shifts. We intentionally designed SleepPhones® headphones with that specific goal in mind. We thoughtfully nestled ultra-thin, padded speakers inside a soft, breathable headband, making them comfortable to wear for long periods without slipping off your head. With their stereo sound, they provide the audio quality required to actually notice a difference, whether you're studying or sleeping comfortably in any position, even on your side.
