What are sleep headphones called?

So you're wondering what those comfy things people wear to bed are called? It's actually a question we get asked often. For a while, everyone just called them "sleep headphones," which isn't wrong, but sounds a bit basic, right? Other people call them "sleep earbuds," but that makes us think of hard plastic pieces that dig into your ears all night (ugh). Still other folks call them "bed headphones," but we think that sounds a bit institutional.

Here at SleepPhones® HQ, we coined the name "SleepPhones® headphones" because, well, they are headphones designed for sleep. SleepPhones® consist of a soft, comfortable headband with super-thin, padded speakers inside. I spoke with one customer, a violinist in a notable orchestra, who summed them up perfectly by saying the headband felt like a gentle hug for her ears. I still cannot get that image out of my head.

While headbands for sleeping are still called many names, if you want to be specific, and avoid any confusion, just say "SleepPhones® headphones." It'll get the point across, and you will sound like you know what you're talking about. 😉
